Convention fellowships will be provided (covering registration fees) for students who will form an ASPA Annual Convention breaking news team. Senior Awards Contest and critique winners will be announced at the ASPA State Convention, Feb. 19-10, 2018, on the University of Alabama campus, as well as winners of the senior awards. To be considered for the awards, seniors must have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and have participated in high school journalism for at least one year. Applicants may be involved in any media activity – newspapers, yearbooks, literary magazines, magazines, broadcast and web-based or multimedia journalism. Seniors can apply for multiple awards with a single portfolio. Awards and critiques for schools not represented at State Convention will be mailed to the school after the event.
